Choosing Porcelain Floor Tiles in Malaysia
We carry porcelain floor tiles in different tones, sizes and surface finishes, for homes and for light commercial floors. Drop by the showroom to see the surface and colour in real lighting before you decide.
What Porcelain Floor Tiles Give You
Porcelain floor tiles are a highly durable, water-resistant and low-maintenance flooring option, made from refined clay fired at extremely high temperatures. Widely used in both indoor and outdoor spaces across Malaysia, they are valued for their resistance to stains, scratches and heavy daily foot traffic.
- Superior durability
- Water and stain resistant
- Low maintenance
- Design versatility
- Long-lasting investment
- Cost-effective over time
They hold their finish in kitchens, living areas, bathrooms and hallways, where wet footprints and mopping are simply part of the week.
Porcelain Floor Tiles Against the Alternatives
- Porcelain vs. ceramic tiles. Porcelain is denser, harder and more water-resistant. It is the better pick for wet areas and high-traffic spaces, while ceramic stays more budget-friendly for lower-traffic rooms.
- Porcelain vs. natural stone. Porcelain offers more design consistency and needs less maintenance than marble or granite. Stone is more porous and stains more easily.
- Porcelain vs. laminate or wood. Unlike laminate and wood, porcelain resists water damage, which is what makes it the sensible choice for bathrooms and kitchens.
- Porcelain vs. vinyl. Vinyl is softer underfoot, but porcelain wins on durability, heat resistance and how it reads in a finished room.
Still comparing? Porcelain floor tiles sit next to glazed porcelain tiles for design range, homogeneous tiles for heavy traffic and nano polished tiles for a high-gloss finish. Pick the tiles adhesive and grout at the same time.
Common questions
Can you mop porcelain tiles?
Yes. Warm water and a neutral pH floor cleaner is all a porcelain floor needs. Wring the mop out properly, because standing water dries into a film that dulls the surface. Avoid abrasive powders and steel wool.
What is the best way to mop a porcelain tile floor?
Sweep or vacuum first so you are not dragging grit across the glaze. Then a damp mop with neutral cleaner, working in sections, and a dry pass afterwards. Most dull porcelain floors are coated in cleaner residue, not worn.
Does vinegar damage porcelain tile?
Not usually the tile face itself, but repeated use attacks cement-based grout and any natural stone trim beside it. Since the grout is the weak point in a bathroom floor, keep vinegar for occasional marks and use a neutral cleaner day to day.
How do you clean porcelain tiles and make them shine?
Strip the film first: two or three passes with plain warm water, then dry. Polish comes from a clean surface, not from a product. If the surface is genuinely scratched, no cleaner will bring it back, which is the case for matt in busy rooms.
Can you lay outdoor porcelain tiles on concrete?
Usually yes, provided the concrete is sound and clean and falls away from the building for drainage, and provided the tile is rated for outdoor use. The adhesive has to be suited to exterior conditions and movement joints respected.
Are porcelain floor tiles better than ceramic?
Porcelain for wet areas and busy floors, because it is denser and absorbs less water. Ceramic tiles cost less and are the sensible choice for walls and low-traffic rooms. For heavy traffic, compare both against homogeneous full body tiles.
